ActiveConnect is an all encompassing site where users can go to progress their fitness journey. The user will be able to track their nutrition and training progress, access a database where they can gain more knowledge about exercises for training as well as learn new recipes for their nutrition, and finally interact with other users on the site.
Background
Research Goal
To know what causes people to give up on their health goals so that we can provide the resources to maintain their motivation.
Methodologies
User Interviews
User interviews were done to help learn more who the users are. What are there needs, opinions, and values. This assisted in developing ideas during research/discovery phase
Competitive Research
Competitive research was conducted to gain information on the what products are currently being offered to users. I was able to gain insight on the features, functions, flows, and experience of competitors products.
After conducting user interviews I compiled the information gained into an affinity map
This was done to see patterns between participants
Interview Findings and Synthesis
Pov (Point of View) Statements
HMW (How Might We) Questions
I compared the advantages and disadvantages between 4 popular fitness apps
Apple Health
Apple Fitness
Nike Run
MacroFactor
Competitive Research Findings
User Persona
Storyboard
Project Goals
Users can post their own information to the site

Site Map
User Flows
A user flow is a visual diagram that shows how a user navigates through a website or app to complete a task.
Task Flows
A task flow is a diagram that shows the steps a user takes to complete a task or objective.
Low-fidelity wireframes are used in the early stages of a project. They are a great way of communicating the core concept and value of the product without getting into specific details
Low Fidelity Wireframes
The next step up are Mid Fidelity Wireframes. These were used as a more practical way to test the functionality of the screen before completing the final design. Usability issues can be worked out earlier during this phase.
Mid Fidelity Wireframes
Mood Board
The mood board was created to gain inspiration for the final design
Branding/Final Logo Design
After the low and mid fidelity wireframes were complete, High fidelity wireframes were created to show a fully detailed version of what the product will become. This is what the user will see.
High Fidelity Wireframes
Now that the design is complete, prototyping is done to demonstrate the functionality of the product. This is a great way to visualize the problem and discover the solution.
Prototype
Usability Testing
After creating the prototype, Testing was conducted to discover if revision would need to be made on the design
Changes Made (Flow 1)
Added description to “What is your Gender”, “Set Goal”, and “What is your Activity Level”
Made “Next button more clear that it is not active
Changes Made (Flow 3)
Added blue stoke to indicate the buttons were active and a clickable
Added back button at the top to go back to previous page
Fixed issue where after tapping “Done” the search bar was still open. (Task ends after hitting done)
Priority Revisions
